August is always the busiest month of the year for me at work. August=back to school preparations=hundreds of children descending upon our clinic needing shots. So I worked more than my typical two days a week. But it was good and now it's over which is even better. In August, Mike and I celebrated our 5th anniversary! Unfortunately it fell on the one Saturday of the year that I had to work (again with the shots) so we waited and did our big celebrating at the end of the month once work slowed down. We took a long weekend trip over Labor Day to San Antonio. We stayed two nights on the Riverwalk and then went out to Medina Lake and spent one night with my Aunt Georgie. While in San Antonio we ate and walked on the Riverwalk, went to the Zoo, went to a brewery for lunch, took Noah swimming and just relaxed. It was great fun. Of course it was quite different celebrating our anniversary with Noah in tow this year, but it was good to be together all as a family.
Noah didn't find the Riverwalk very exciting

Noah has become interested in what we are eating and drinking and
is convinced he should share our drinks with us

Hippo
We could walk down into a building and see under the water of the pool
where the hippos live. This guy had his face pressed up against the
glass and seemed to be staring at everyone. It was pretty funny.

It's Tilton family tradition to eat at Paesano's (an Italian restaurant) anytime we're in San Antonio.
It's now become a White family tradition as well.
We spent a lot of time growing up with my Great Aunt Georgie and Uncle Nuck. Thanksgiving has always been a tradition there and once they moved to the lake we'd go and hang out during the summer and swim and just have a good time. This was Noah's first trip to Aunt Georgie's, so it was really special to me for him to get to go. I don't know how many more opportunities we'll have to do this so these memories are really precious!

So, what's new with Noah? At the end of August we introduced him to rice cereal. A few weeks later he moved on to sweet potatoes and will continue to try new things. He can now roll in both directions and sit up by himself. Now that he can get himself on his tummy, he doesn't mind being on his tummy and actually seems to prefer to sleep on his tummy now. He got his first tooth on Sept 5th just days before he was 6 months old and got the second one (both are bottom front teeth) just days later. He had his 6 month check up in mid September and is doing great. He weighed in at 21 lbs 1.5 oz and was 28.75 inches long. Still 90-95th percentile for both. He loves being outside and wants to be a part of whatever is going on. When put on the floor he reaches and grabs for whatever toy is in front of him. He works really hard at reaching, but can't project himself forward yet. We are definitely seeing signs of major determination in him though.
Other things with us: Mike finished up his internship for the DCE program in August and Point of Grace voted to extend him a call to a permanent position as the Director of Youth and College Ministries/Business Manager in September. We're still waiting for the official documents to be processed but those should come soon and then Mike will accept the call. The church building has had some set backs but we're hoping it will be complete in November/December. We're excited also about the return of football season. We got UT season tickets again this year so Mike and I have been going to games. We have seats in the new North Endzone. They're upperdeck-the view is still great, the only thing that stinks is the amount of time it takes to walk up to the seats. Oh well...we're just pleased to be at the games!
Well, I think that's a pretty good wrap up of our lives over the past couple months. Here are some more picture of Noah.
