We went to San Antonio for a long weekend. The first part of the weekend was spent with my family at one of our favorite places--Medina Lake at Aunt Georgie's house! We went out to celebrate her birthday. It was extra special because my Grandmother decided to make the trip with my parents. We've traditionally always gone to Aunt Georgie's a few times a year and that's been our traditional Thanksgiving gathering place. Last year it became too much for Grandmother to be able to travel up there (it's about a 5 hour drive from Angleton) so we were all a bit surprised when she made it known that she was not about to stay home when the rest of her family was headed to Medina Lake. That hard headedness tends to run in the women in my family (surprise, surprise!).
It was a good time. We spent some time in the lake on Saturday and mostly just sat around and talked and ate (and drank) which is what we usually do there. We stayed an extra night after everyone else left and then drove into San Antonio to have some fun with just the three of us. (See next post for pics of that part of the weekend).
We took Noah to the Children's Museum and went to the Riverwalk on Monday. He had a blast exploring all the different areas. I think his favorite by far was the giant ball contraption. He liked grocery shopping at the little HEB store too. Once we finished at the museum we walked over to the Riverwalk and had lunch at Paesano's, another family favorite.
