Mohawk, pulling up, and more

Noah's hair is finally growing out some. In fact, for a little while now, his little bald spot that he had on the back of his head (from sleeping on his back and rubbing his head around on the floor) has finally been covered over with hair. Anyway, with more hair now, Mike spiked his hair up after his bath the other night. It actually stayed up all through the night and I tried to take some pictures the next morning. It's sort of hard to see, but either way he's cute.

His latest trick is trying to pull himself up. He's able to pull up onto his knees, but that's about it so far. In the last few days he's started trying to get his feet up underneath him, but can't quite get it. I know he wants to stand and he's actually started to get ticked off that he can't do it yet. He's absolutely at the point that he needs constant supervision though. You turn your back for a second and he's across the room trying to get up on the stairs or pull up on the coffee table. We've tried to make the living room a little more "Noah" friendly but short of removing all the furniture and covering the tile I'm not sure what we can else we can do. And he's SO determined and strong willed. We've seen this from the time he was a newborn but now that he can actually try to get what he wants he really gets frustrated if things don't go his way. Mike and I have NO idea where he could have gotten this from (wink, wink).

He's doing great eating solids. I make a lot of his foods for him...fruits and veggies mostly. And so far he's liked everything he's had. We've started trying finger foods. He can pick them up but amazingly doesn't really put them in his mouth...this is amazing because everything else he gets his hands on immediately goes in his mouth. Silly boy. Anyway, the lighting in these pictures isn't so great, but you should be able to see that he got food everywhere but in his mouth!

Noah and Evey

We went to The Woodlands last weekend. We stayed with Mike's dad so Noah got to hang out with Grandpa some. He seemed to enjoy himself. We also go to see our good friends, the Prices. Mike and James went to highschool together and lived together through out college. We've know Charlotte since they started dating and we've all stayed close except they had to move up to Virginia for work earlier this year. This was the first time we've seen them since Noah was born so it was great to get to hang out some. Their daughter Evey is 15 months old so it was fun to see Noah and Evey together. We didn't get many pictures but James did get a couple of Noah and Evey together playing while we were waiting for dinner on Friday night.

Portraits

We had some portraits taken of Noah last month. I know I'm a little biased, but man, he is one cute baby!!

Happy Halloween!

We spent Halloween with Mike's brother's family in Kyle. Their neighborhood is a good one for trick or treating. There are always a lot of people that go way out and decorate their yards and such. One of their friends was actually having a Flinstones themed party--the dad made a life size Flinstone car and they had a dinosaur cut out and everything. It was pretty cool. We love hanging out with the kids for Halloween and it was so fun having Noah this year too! He didn't last very long with the trick or treating but instead snoozed in his stroller while we walked with his cousins. A good time was had by all.
Noah was a monkey. His costume had a big stuffed tummy on it so it made him look even bigger than he really is. Isaac was Ash (from Pokemon), Lydia was a kitty Webkin, and Jared was a Biscuit Brother.

I thought these decorations were clever

"Drunk as a monkey" as Mike said.
Noah fell asleep in his stroller during trick-or-treating and we took a picture of him with Brian's flask. We're such good parents.

Pumpkins at the Christmas Tree Farm

On Friday we went to the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm. In the fall they have tons of pumpkins and other fun activities. We went out with our friends the Terrals who have a 1 year old daughter, Maddie. We went took pictures with the pumpkins, went on a hay ride and looked at the farm animals. They also have other fun stuff that the kids were a little too young for. Hopefully we can go out again in future years making this a fun fall tradition as Noah gets older and can enjoy the other stuff too.

I love these pictures of Noah and Maddie...
Noah: "Hey how come you can stand up? How do you do that?"

Maddie: "Daddy, the boy is trying to touch me again!"

Mmmm...mini gourd...
